But it seems she did, although... honestly, I don't see the point of covering it up in that trial, either. It was clear they'd all have rather gotten rid of Akane-chan-- they would have been perfectly safe.

Even with what we know about how many are meant to die, they're still picking and choosing one by one, aren't they?

Akane could have done so well. They're using their scapegoats little by little. So they can choose who will be left. It'll only be fun to watch if one of them betrays the rest. Doubtful.

There's another week. Who will they scapegoat this time? Especially when there's new information to hand out. If Sol and Lune are up for being weakened... What do you say? I want to fight them at least. The end result this time, however, can be their lives.

The living surely will want the corruption to be gone. They'll have to make a choice.

[honestly, in private he just sort of. lets it happen. whatever, they already fought, he doesn't currently feel the need to shove hisoka away or scold him for the touch.]

There's time yet for someone to decide they want to be the one left standing, whatever everyone else might plan. That might be interesting to see.

Try fighting Lune if you must, but if you attempt to kill Sol-kun I'll be calling everything off.

[Both brows rise curiously. He draws his hand back so he can prop his chin and jaw in it, head tilted. His eyes glitter mischievously. Of course they do.]

Hoh? Did you and Sol become good friends?

[That's so funny... And also tempting terribly to spoil.]

I wouldn't call us friends, but neither would I like to see anything happen to him.

[they're friends. it's terrible and shirasu absolutely hates that it somehow happened.]

[threatening hisoka will just work him up, and fighting hisoka will work him up... there are only so many options to actually try and stop him, tbh. but he absolutely will not get any if he actually harms sol.]

Hisoka's smile curves wider across the bottom of his face. His lashes lower halfway over his eyes. It's clear he fully believes they are now friends. No one would try to put him between a rock and a hard place if it wasn't the case.]

You're not fun. Sol was the best one to fight. Ah well... [His hand drops back down to annoy Shirasu by twirling some hair with his finger.] We'll see. If they get below ten to get rid of the corruption, I'm going to take my chances.

If you're hoping I'll threaten to kill you again if you do, I'm afraid you'll end up disappointed.

[he exhales an annoyed little huff of breath, there, and this time he does reach up to swat hisoka's hand away. stop that.]

[The swat works, if only because Hisoka just wanted it to be known he was being a nuisance at least some. He's pleased, and he again props his face in his palm.]

That's no fun either. You won't even try to kill me anymore... It's almost as if you enjoy my company. How scary.

If that thought scares you, I have to wonder just what sort of people have enjoyed your company before-- or is it the thought of someone edging too close that's frightening?

[a little hum, there-- he keeps his tone entirely casual.]

Either way, I'd say 'enjoy' is a strong word.

[Most of the amusement dies away, but there's still some left as he slowly rolls onto his back.]

The strongest survive. No matter what Minato may say, Xion didn't kill me. I was simply removed from being a player in a game by an advantage. I lost a battle, but not the war.

[he notes the way hisoka ignores that question, but he doesn't try to change the subject again, just shrugging his shoulders.]

Either way, I think Lune-san is the better target. You won't enjoy the fallout as much with Sol-kun.

You don't have to pretend like my entertainment would suffer simply because you're fond of Sol. I understand. [He regards his nails. His voice is lilting like he's amused, but there isn't any amusement on his face anymore.] I couldn't allow Gon to get caught in the crossfire of Illumi and Killua's rivalry either.

Though Sol was such a good fighter. It's a shame I can't see how far he can go.

I'm hardly pretending... but you're not entirely wrong. I suppose it is a somewhat similar case.

[though in this case, it's not because he wants to fight sol himself. he just reminds shirasu too much of certain people... he'd rather see him live.]

[Now the amusement is back, if only a little. He stretches his arm up over his head and runs the fingers and palm teasingly along the side of Shirasu's jaw to be annoying.]

so he'll follow along with that, actually, shifting so he can lean in to kiss him. as before, it's aggressive, fingers threading into hair and pulling hard, teeth grazing roughly and nipping at hisoka's lower lip when he pulls away.

and then he just falls right onto his back on his side of the bed after shifting away again, breaking their contact completely. that's all hisoka gets.]

Honestly, Hisoka did not expect Shirasu to give him anything but a spray in the face maybe. He looks visible surprised, and even lets Shirasu manhandle him without much more than a hum. It's gone, and he's left brushing his fingers over his mouth, blinking.

Then the surprise melts into something entirely pleased. He rolls over so he can lean across Shirasu's middle with his upper half. There doesn't seem to be any pursuit of more, but he does want to look Shirasu in the face.]

There's no plan. [thanks for the smooch tho] We have to wait to see if the living sacrifice them for the condition of getting rid of the corruption. They were awfully intent on trying to "find another way" to the end.

If we don't need Sol and Lune to return home, I'd like to fight Lune to see if he's a worthy opponent. If he dies... oh well. If I can live forever... that's a good stipulation for taking his place.

[the surprise is enough, honestly-- it's just as much about keeping hisoka guessing as it is about getting information, so that gets a satisfied enough look. he doesn't push hisoka off of him.]

We'll see what we can find out, then. If we do need them, I'll be quite annoyed if you've gone and gotten rid of one... but if we get something out of it, that's a different case. Just living and returning home isn't going to be enough for me, after all.

[Ahhh, mean! Hisoka's face pinches some, and he shoots Shirasu a look, reaching up to rub the spot of his pulled hair. Quit teasing him!]

All of that for one person? [He peers for a long moment at Shirasu, searching and amused.] Someone you care about. Does Shirasu... have a heart? I'm shocked.

[another dismissive gesture, though-- it's followed with a sigh.]

But our clan has had twin Heads ever since we took over. With both of us there again, perhaps more would be possible.

I did think it was foolish at first to have two Heads, but I was young at the time. It proved to be quite useful.
