[as hisoka had done to him earlier, his fingers twine into his hair, but tight enough to pull uncomfortably; then he lets go, hand dropping to rest on the bed.]

[Ahhh, mean! Hisoka's face pinches some, and he shoots Shirasu a look, reaching up to rub the spot of his pulled hair. Quit teasing him!]

All of that for one person? [He peers for a long moment at Shirasu, searching and amused.] Someone you care about. Does Shirasu... have a heart? I'm shocked.

For more than just him. I have a responsibility to my people.

[another dismissive gesture, though-- it's followed with a sigh.]

But our clan has had twin Heads ever since we took over. With both of us there again, perhaps more would be possible.

[All he says is:] Twins. [It's not a question, and he definitely has a particular look to his glance. But, like... that's all he says...]

Splitting the responsibility? And what happens if the twin decides it's time to lead alone? Ah. I forgot. You're quite like the Zoldycks, aren't you? Family means everything.

[swear to god if he's just like 'two shirasus...' he Will double die.]

I did think it was foolish at first to have two Heads, but I was young at the time. It proved to be quite useful.

[He is very much like "two Shirasus" unfortunately. But luckily, he wouldn't pursue anything like that without it being mutual. Small blessings. He can taunt about it, though.]

I'm not sure having more than a single Zoldyck is useful. Well, for them I suppose. They are quite messy. Were you? [He smiles like he knows the answer.] So... if you were Little Isuke...?

He was Isame, and also Kotarou. We shared the title of Fuuma Kotarou the tenth.

[it's a name and a title, just go with it. that comment gets an annoyed look, though.]

And of course we weren't-- though, well. The end goal certainly was to create a mess. Our work was not.

[Inwardly, he's closing his eyes very intensely at Illumi for the twisted little game which had been played with Killua. His favorite plaything almost died? Get out of here with that mess.]

[Ah. He hit a sort of soft, sore spots. Hisoka just peers at Shirasu through his lashes, not smiling, but not frowning either. Surprisingly, he doesn't poke that particular hornet's nest.]

And do what? I thought your goal was one you wished to accomplish alone.

I can finish what I start even with you there. Besides, I'm sure you would be busy trying to learn how to use nen.

[His smile is horrifically pleasant for it being one of his smiles.]

[he says that idly, like it's just an offhand thought. hard to say if he's truly thinking about it.]

[He still doesn't look in Shirasu's direction. The golden eyes are twisted away and up, shifting thoughtfully around the room.]

[There's no resistance; he lets his head be turned, and he peers at Shirasu for a moment or two, looking perhaps very faintly amused.]

I've already memorized how you look. [He closes his eyes briefly.] Sometimes, I just enjoy seeing it in my mind.

You're aware of what I meant, Hisoka.

[His face stays pointed in Shirasu's direction. He keeps looking.]

I'll always look at you if you're where I can see you. I did mean what I said. It didn't take you long to learn your element. Nen shouldn't be so difficult for you to master quickly.

If Gon can, you can.

That's precisely the opposite of what you were doing a moment ago.

[but then he expects this of hisoka, so. it's fine.]

...we'll see. If nothing else, if there's also a way to leave-- perhaps additional strength could help change our situation at home.

[Dang, fine. He'll just stare all the time.]

Ah, using me for the ability to learn nen and then running away home. If I wasn't impressed, I'd be disappointed. What do you plan to do? If you're a transmuter, what will you change your nen into?

There's six, remember. [He holds up six fingers, wiggling them.] Aura types are like a wheel. Whatever your aura type is, you can also learn the two adjacent types, too. You can learn all of them really. But they won't be as strong as your natural aura type.

Hmm. Illumi is a manipulator. They're very logical. Maybe that would be your aura type. He uses needles. He can change his appearance with them, and he can use them on others to control them.

Manipulation does sound like it might suit me. I've always favored having others do the work where possible, though I don't need any extra help changing my appearance...

But given the ability to change that aura into anything, toxins are always quite useful as well.
