I can finish what I start even with you there. Besides, I'm sure you would be busy trying to learn how to use nen.

[His smile is horrifically pleasant for it being one of his smiles.]

[he says that idly, like it's just an offhand thought. hard to say if he's truly thinking about it.]

[But he doesn't clarify what he means by this, not even glancing in Shirasu's direction.]

If there's nothing left for you at home. If we're even able to leave this place at all. Perhaps you could become the leader of the Phantom Troupe when Chrollo is dead.

[He still doesn't look in Shirasu's direction. The golden eyes are twisted away and up, shifting thoughtfully around the room.]

because shirasu exhales a sigh, reaching over to just. take hold of hisoka's jaw and try to forcibly turn his damn head to look at him. stop that.]

You've grown tired of seeing me awfully quickly, haven't you.

[all after hisoka was the one who moved to be able to make eye contact in the first place.]

[There's no resistance; he lets his head be turned, and he peers at Shirasu for a moment or two, looking perhaps very faintly amused.]

I've already memorized how you look. [He closes his eyes briefly.] Sometimes, I just enjoy seeing it in my mind.

You're aware of what I meant, Hisoka.

[don't be like this, don't phrase it that way?

he lets go, though.]

[His face stays pointed in Shirasu's direction. He keeps looking.]

I'll always look at you if you're where I can see you. I did mean what I said. It didn't take you long to learn your element. Nen shouldn't be so difficult for you to master quickly.

That's precisely the opposite of what you were doing a moment ago.

[but then he expects this of hisoka, so. it's fine.]

...we'll see. If nothing else, if there's also a way to leave-- perhaps additional strength could help change our situation at home.

[Dang, fine. He'll just stare all the time.]

Ah, using me for the ability to learn nen and then running away home. If I wasn't impressed, I'd be disappointed. What do you plan to do? If you're a transmuter, what will you change your nen into?

There's six, remember. [He holds up six fingers, wiggling them.] Aura types are like a wheel. Whatever your aura type is, you can also learn the two adjacent types, too. You can learn all of them really. But they won't be as strong as your natural aura type.

Hmm. Illumi is a manipulator. They're very logical. Maybe that would be your aura type. He uses needles. He can change his appearance with them, and he can use them on others to control them.

Manipulation does sound like it might suit me. I've always favored having others do the work where possible, though I don't need any extra help changing my appearance...

But given the ability to change that aura into anything, toxins are always quite useful as well.

[wildc4rd]

I'm sure he would kill you without even blinking if you copied his nen. He's very proud of them.

[But Hisoka would pay to see that fight.................. He's naughty.]

You enjoy toxins, but the universe didn't allow you to have the toxin ability? [He actually laughs.] I like the irony.

I don't have any need to copy someone else's.

[he'll develop his own damn skills, thank you very much.]

And truthfully, given how many of us seemed to have it-- not having Toxicity was something of a relief. I'd have changed my ability just to avoid suspicion.

It would have been boring if you had it. Do make your nen more interesting than simply being like Toxicity. There's so much potential.

[wagashis]

I'd have to explore its potential more before deciding. Such things aren't meant to be settled so quickly, especially without knowing that's what I'd end up with.

Do surprise me then. [Like before, he turns his head in the other direction, mostly to rest the slope of his skull better on Shirasu.] If you even bother coming.

[i absolutely hate how he's just laying on shirasu and shirasu is allowing it? because he does. he's continuing to allow it.]

That isn't up to me, just yet. Don't get ahead of yourself.

[yeah, he's comfy. so he isn't moving.]

But so many others said I never planned for the future.

There's planning, and there's keeping things in mind.

[he's quiet for a while there, though, apparently comfortable enough. it might seem like he drifted off.

[Shirasu is quiet, and he is, surprisingly, quiet. He's almost ready to doze, too, until Shirasu speaks up. His lashes flutter.]

Hm? Well... [For a moment or two, he's thoughtful. He's never had to explain his world this way before, of course. Everyone was from there.] It's like most worlds, I imagine. People and cities, like Yorknew. Auctions, arenas. Beasts. Everyone has their own part to play. There's Yorbia and Azia. And the Dark Continent.

And Hunters.

[wagashis]

I see...

[he's taking all of that in, still thoughtful. most of that is familiar, though he doesn't know if the cities would be more advanced or not... and something called a dark continent definitely sounds intriguing, honestly.]

And just what do these Hunters hunt? I take it there must be a number of them, or that they must have some importance, to be mentioned.

Everyone wants to be a Hunter. Big and small. Only few have what it takes. [Hisoka looks back at Shirasu with a small grin.] They hunt beasts or treasures.

You take an exam to get a Hunter’s license. It lets you go where you please... and do with little consequence. So many try, but only a handful pass. They say it is one of the hardest things to accomplish, getting your Hunter’s License.
