[Why is Hisoka a fucking showoff.]

Honestly, if you'd asked me which of us would end up dead first, I wouldn't have said him. I'll be interested in seeing who made that decision.

[A moment of consideration, before he adds-]

But I suppose it's one way to keep us on our toes, isn't it?

[And immediately after that, he's drawing and throwing his borrowed dagger in one quick, fluid motion, aiming to take out one of the vines holding him up at the shoulders. Both, if he can get them from this angle. Ninja bullshit probably means there's just enough light to see so he can be an asshole.]

Hm. Not bad.

[That gets what's probably an approving nod. Decent reaction time, good use of his ability; the lack of a reaction in return is also interesting.]

If that's what you consider teasing, I'll bear that in mind.

[He doesn't bother retrieving the dagger just yet, leaving it where it's now stuck in a trunk.]

Are you more upset about his early exit, or about what that may mean if your fates are tied?

[Shirasu doesn't move once the dagger's in flight, allowing it to land before he reaches for it and wipes it clean on his sleeve. Thanks for the return.]

If you'd like to fight the other one, it doesn't seem like that would take much, right now.

[Considering the way Ookurikara drew a sword on Lune, like, immediately...]

But we'll have to wait to see what your entanglement truly means for you. With any luck, it won't be entirely literal-- I'd hate to see our agreement come to an early end as well.
wagashis: (oh my god she's fuckin dead)

I have, yes... though I didn't learn too much more.

[He breathes out a sigh, there, slightly disappointed.]

They don't seem to know as much as I'd like, unfortunately, but I do feel this would've come up if they expected it.

[on the other hand, it also means they don't know much about him, so you know. win some, lose some.]
wagashis: (this is your space)

I'm not going to rush into working with someone else just to have a replacement.

[He's not needy, damn!]

If I found someone suitable, though, I wouldn't avoid a new arrangement in that case.

[It'd just be troublesome... he'd really rather not have to seek out someone new.]
wagashis: (road work ahead?)

I'd hope you're smarter than to kill someone whose fate you're meant to be tied to, but I suppose you could still surprise me.

[His tone is mostly deadpan, there, as he looks Hisoka over.]

After some of the things you've said, I might not be shocked if you just wanted to see what would happen.
wagashis: (can I please get a waffle?)

[personal profile] wagashis 2019-06-08 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I've already told you, arrangements like this work best in secret-- not to mention that there's no guarantee either of us would survive. We don't yet know what might happen.

[He's not saying he wouldn't consider it conceptually, though, so Hisoka can take that as he will.]

Well, there's little use in worrying about how much trouble you're in until we can get more information.

[For all they know, it won't prove fatal for him at all. Lune and Sol are their best sources, but that doesn't mean they're always correct-- intertwined fates could mean nothing in the end.]

It's possible you'll live without him, just as it's possible you'll need a new one.
